JAKARTA, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- A moment of harmony took place at the Malaysia-Indonesia border when military personnel from both countries gathered at the Simanggaris Joint Security Post, located near Sabah in Malaysia and Nunukan in North Kalimantan, on Monday.

The Border Security Task Force of Yon Armed 11 from Indonesia's Kostrad (Strategic Reserve Command) displayed a spirit of brotherhood by congratulating their counterparts from the Malaysian Army (TDM) on the occasion of Malaysia's 67th National Day.

The event was modest but deeply meaningful, where security personnel from both countries, stationed at the border region, interacted warmly with one another, according to Yon Armed 11 Kostrad.

"We extend our best wishes for the 67th Independence Day to all Malaysians, especially our friends from TDM who are stationed at this border.

"May the spirit of brotherhood and cooperation between our two countries continue to be preserved," said the Commander of the Simanggaris Joint Security Post, Second Lieutenant Toffano Adita Bangun, who led his team.

The event continued with a cake-cutting ceremony, a photo session, and the exchange of souvenirs as a symbol of friendship, with the atmosphere shared on official social media.

Yon Armed 11 Kostrad reported that the warm and familial atmosphere was evident, showing that despite being from different countries, the soldiers at the border maintain a harmonious relationship.

"With moments like this, it is hoped that the relationship between Indonesia and Malaysia will grow stronger, especially among the security personnel at the border," it wrote in a post titled 'The Harmony of Indonesian and Malaysian Soldiers at the Border.'
