GEORGE TOWN, Sept 12 (Bernama) -- QNET’s V-Malaysia 2024 Convention, a five-day event that kicked off today, will feature about 8,000 participants from around 30 countries, solidifying the biannual convention’s status as a major international gathering.

QNET, a global leader in wellness and lifestyle-focused direct selling, said the event held at the Penang Spice Convention Centre, Bayan Baru, aims to enhance Malaysia’s reputation as a preferred destination for international meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE).

The convention will showcase QNET’s watch and jewellery brand Bernhard H. Mayer’s Serendipity Collection, featuring jewellery made from sustainable materials, and the Limited-Edition Wave Rider watch, highlighting QNET’s commitment to sustainable luxury, it said in a statement today.

QNET chief of regional operations Pushpalatha Balan said V-Malaysia is not just a convention but a platform for driving business excellence and sustainability.

“Our theme ‘Unstoppable' reflects our dedication to inspiring positive change and fostering resilient, innovative entrepreneurs. By introducing new sustainable product lines, we aim to meet customer needs while promoting a greener future,” she said.

Puspalatha also noted that QNET closely collaborates with V-Global Management (The V) to ensure the success of the biannual convention.

“The V is well-known for its expertise in global training and event management. As a strategic partner, it plays a key role in business expansion and communication,” she added.

Meanwhile, State Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Wong Hon Wai said Penang has seen a significant surge in tourism and international recognition since first hosting V-Malaysia Convention in 2008.

“The vibrant life and commerce that QNET brings with each event have been instrumental in this growth. When companies like QNET have repeated large-scale events, it leads to the creation of temporary and permanent jobs in various sectors, particularly in hospitality, tourism and event management,” he added.

He pointed out that between 2023 and 2024, Penang's economy experienced substantial growth driven by a resurgence in the tourism sector, recording nearly seven million passenger movements in 2023 -- a 64.5 per cent increase compared to the previous year.

V-Malaysia Convention’s comprehensive agenda includes business training sessions, motivational speeches, and product exhibitions, providing attendees with opportunities for personal and professional growth.

QNET said the collaboration with Tourism Malaysia highlights the strategic importance of such events in promoting the country's unique blend of business and leisure tourism.

QNET is one of Asia's leading e-commerce-based direct-selling companies, offering a wide range of health, wellness and lifestyle products that have helped empower millions of entrepreneurs in more than 100 countries.

Headquartered in Hong Kong, QNET has a presence in more than 25 countries around the world through subsidiaries, branch offices, agency partnerships, and franchisees.
