ALOR SETAR, Sept 15 (Bernama) -- Kedah Darul Aman FC (KDA FC) goalkeeper Kalamullah Al-Hafiz Mat Rowi has mutually agreed to terminate his contract with the Canaries.

In a Facebook post, KDA FC announced that the decision was arrived at after in-depth discussions between Kalamullah Al-Hafiz, the coaching staff and the club’s management.

“Mutual contract termination... in these difficult times, the departure of Kalamullah Al-Hafiz at the peak of his career as one of Harimau Malaya’s top goalkeepers was not an easy decision for both the player and the management.

"However, given the current situation of the Canaries, this is the best decision for both sides,” the post said.

KDA FC praised Kalamullah Al-Hafiz for his excellent performances during the club's challenging early season and acknowledged his contribution in helping KDA FC reach the 2024/25 FA Cup semifinals recently.

The KDA FC management also thanked Kalamullah Al-Hafiz for his services to the Canaries and wished him success in his future career with a new team.

Kalamullah Al-Hafiz, originally from Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, joined KDA FC from Petaling Jaya City (PJ City) in 2022.

Previously, media reports claimed that KDA FC was facing financial issues, leading to unpaid player salaries for several months, which resulted in players boycotting team training sessions.
