US DOLLAR EDGES HIGHER IN LATE WEDNESDAY TRADING

NEW YORK, Oct 3 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The US dollar advanced in late trading on Wednesday, reported Xinhua.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.48 per cent to 101.677 at 3:00 pm (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro declined to US$1.1038 from US$1.1072 in the previous session, and the British pound dropped to US$1.3261 from US$1.3284 in the previous session.

The US dollar bought 146.33 Japanese yen, higher than 143.67 Japanese yen of the previous session. The US dollar added to 0.8498 Swiss francs from 0.8466 Swiss francs, and it increased to 1.3507 Canadian dollars from 1.3484 Canadian dollars. The US dollar was up to 10.2693 Swedish Kronor from 10.2639 Swedish Kronor.
