MOSCOW, Oct 9 (Bernama-Sputnik) -- US Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris has a two per cent lead over her Republican opponent, former president Donald Trump, less than a month before the presidential election, a Redfield & Wilton Strategies poll has shown, reported Sputnik.

"After weighting by respondents’ self-declared likelihood to vote, 48 per cent... of Americans say they will vote for Kamala Harris, while 46 per cent... say they will vote for Donald Trump," the Tuesday poll showed.

Four per cent of respondents told the pollster that they were unsure about their preferred candidate.

When asked about which candidate is more likely to win the November election, 42 per cent chose Harris, while 38 per cent said that Trump was more likely to have his second term in the White House. At the same time, 12 per cent believed the upcoming presidential race to be a "toss-up", according to the poll.

The poll was conducted on Oct 6 among 2,300 US respondents. The pollster did not provide the margin of error.

The United States will hold local, state and federal elections on Nov 5.
