ROME, Oct 15 (Bernama-ANSA) -- The Italian contingent in UNIFIL is not going to flee Lebanon amid Israeli attacks and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demand to pull out, the Italian news agency ANSA reported quoting Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on Monday.

Tajani said a final decision on any possible withdrawal is up to the United Nations (UN).

"We reiterated that what happened is unacceptable.

The Italian soldiers are untouchable.

We will not leave our positions, also because it is a decision that is up to the United Nations alone.

We are not fleeing from places where there are difficulties", said the Forza Italia leader after a summit on the Balkans in Berlin.

"Our soldiers have always done their duty,” he added.
