JACKY WANTS TO ENJOY LAST TWO TOURNEYS AS BAM SHUTTLER

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 (Bernama) -- National men's singles shuttler Jacky Kok Jing Hong refuses to think too much about his next move after being 'released’ by the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM).

The 22-year-old, instead, prefers to enjoy his remaining days as a BAM shuttler by doing his best in the tournaments held under the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour calendar.

"So far, I have not thought about it too much and I only want to enjoy the tournaments, because I still have the (ongoing) Malaysia Super 100 (Oct 15-20) and Indonesia Masters (Oct 29-Nov 2) to play in representing BAM,” he said as he thanked the BAM coaches and his supporters for their backing since he joined BAM in 2015.

He told reporters this after defeating India's Mithun Manjunath 21-16, 21-8 in the first round of the Malaysia Super 100 tournament today.

BAM had previously announced a revamp of their players by 'releasing’ 13 shuttlers, including Jacky, effective end of this month.

Jacky, meanwhile, admitted that playing on home ground at the Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara has motivated him to show his true colours, especially when he comes up against fourth-seeded Koo Takahashi of Japan in the second round tomorrow.

"I don't care about what happened because I'm not a top shuttler, anyway. I just want to play and do my best… and see where it takes me,” he said.
