2. JOKOWI NOMINATES HERINDRA AS NEW HEAD OF INDONESIA'S INTELLIGENCE AGENCY -- JAKARTA GLOBE

Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Puan Maharani announced that President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has proposed Deputy Minister of Defense Muhammad Herindra as the new head of the National Intelligence Agency (BIN), replacing Budi Gunawan.

Cambodia has deployed nearly 10,000 blue berets on humanitarian missions under the United Nations  peace operations in 12 missions across 10 countries since 2005. In addition, 627 Blue Hat troops are  currently stationed in different conflict zones.

 

2. TROOPS TO COMPETE IN KHMER MIXED MARTIAL ARTS -- FRESH NEWS

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said over 200 troops have applied to compete in the Traditional Khmer Mixed Martial Arts Championships. About 400 participants are expected to join the event at Phnom Penh's National Olympic Stadium from 18-20 October 2024

1. VIETNAM TRANSITIONS TO 5G NETWORK -- VIETNAM NEWS  

Viettel Telecom launched the nation’s first commercial 5G services on Tuesday that is 10 times faster than the older 4G services. The local telco giant installed 6,500 base transceiver stations in 63 provinces and cities with speeds of up to one gigabyte per second.

1. PRIME AND PLUS HDB FLATS IN OCT BTO LAUNCH TO COME WITH 6 TO 9 PER CENT SUBSIDY CLAWBACK CLAUSE -- THE STRAITS TIMES

The new Plus and Prime flats launched on Oct 16 will come with a subsidy clawback clause of between 6 and 9 per cent, said the Housing Board, as it rolled out 8,573 Build-To-Order (BTO) homes under a new flat classification system.
