PETALING JAYA, Oct 16 (Bernama) -- PDRM FC today launched their official web portal and appointed singer Amir Masdi as team ambassador in a bid to lift the image of the men in blue among local football supporters.
PDRM FC chief executive officer ASP Mohamad Hafiz Zainal Abidin said the move aims to further expand the team's brand and attract more supporters to the stadium.
"If possible, we can create an event with our collaborative partners to pull in the crowd (to watch matches at the stadium),” he told a media conference on the announcement of the Official Radio, Ambassador and Official Portal of PDRM FC at Menara Star here today.
He added that those who register would enjoy various benefits and privileges, particularly when purchasing products via the portal.
Meanwhile, Amir, whose full name is Amir Syaswan Masdi, said this is the first time he has been appointed as an ambassador of a football club.
Amir, winner of a 2016 reality TV talent show, added that he is also excited about inviting his fans to give their backing for PDRM in the Super League.
"Perhaps, in the future, I will compose a song for PDRM FC, maybe even their theme song and even a music video with the players so that my fans from the entertainment world will support PDRM FC and PDRM FC fans will support me.
“It’s a win-win situation for me, as a football fan, to be a part of team PDRM FC. I am very honoured to be here,” said the 28-year-old singer.
At the event today, Suria FM was also announced as PDRM's official radio station.
PDRM, the 2023 Malaysian Football League (MFL) Challenge Cup champions, are currently fifth in the 2024/2025 Super League competition, having collected 15 points from 11 matches - just two points away from third-placed Terengganu FC.
