LABUAN, Nov 5 (Bernama) -- Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, made an impactful maiden visit to Labuan Matriculation College (LMC) today, engaging directly with students in Malaysia's renowned international business and financial hub.
The Queen was warmly welcomed by 960 students waving the national flag, with some dressed in traditional costumes of various ethnic groups of Sabah and Labuan, creating a festive atmosphere.
During her time at the college, Raja Zarith Sofiah toured exhibition booths and interacted with student leaders from LMC, SMK Labuan, SM Science and Labuan Vocational College.
The visit offered students a unique opportunity to share their academic projects and experiences with the Queen, highlighting their dedication and talents.
The Queen also explored MAKERSPACE@KML, a collaborative space designed to foster innovation and teamwork.
This facility provides shared resources, knowledge and expertise, encouraging students and makers to work together on creative projects that integrate technology, design and engineering.
The Queen also presented a contribution of eight laptops from the Sultan Ibrahim Johor Foundation to college students.
Her Majesty’s visit to the college, as part of her two-day official visit to the island, reflects her commitment to inspiring youths and supporting educational initiatives across Malaysia.
