KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 15 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA) will lead 10 Malaysian franchise companies to participate in the “MIHAS@Dubai” programme organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) from Nov 18-20 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
In a statement today, MFA said the franchise trade mission to Dubai aims to expand market opportunities and drive the growth of Malaysian franchise entrepreneurs internationally while also strengthening trade relations between Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The Malaysian franchise companies participating in this programme include CheeseU, CIC Where Leaders Are Born, Coolblog, Irispro, Marrybrown, Mokti’s, Muzart, Secret Recipe, US Pizza, and Q-Dees.
MFA chairman Datuk Radzali Hassan stated that this mission not only exposes Malaysian entrepreneurs to the dynamic UAE market but also equips them with vital information on the opportunities and challenges of the global market.
“This initiative aligns with the National Franchise Policy, which aims to expand Malaysia's franchise network to the international level.
“This programme also provides opportunities for local entrepreneurs to build strategic relationships and understand the needs and tastes of consumers in Dubai,” he said.
The Malaysian delegation, consisting of officials from the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development, Perbadanan Nasional Bhd, SME Corp, and SME Bank, will also include representatives from 16 companies under these agencies.
This trade mission, which features activities including business exhibitions, roundtable discussion sessions, forums, and industry visits, will focus on the competitive advantages of Malaysian brands with growth potential in the food, education, beauty, health, and service sectors.
According to the MFA, several international trade missions and specialised franchise business missions, known as specialised business missions (business matching), will be conducted throughout 2025, starting in February and involving countries across East Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and other regions.
