KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18 (Bernama) -- LBS Bina Group Berhad (LBS) has launched Bandar Rimbawan, an eco-friendly development located in Genting Highlands, Pahang. Spanning 315 acres, it is projected to generate a gross development value (GDV) exceeding RM9.5 billion.
Situated at an elevation of 821 metres above sea level, LBS said Bandar Rimbawan was meticulously designed to integrate communities with the local ecosystem, with rivers and waterfalls forming the backbone of the township.
“Rimbawan is designed and developed with these natural elements in mind. To ensure the preservation of local biodiversity, green corridors have been established throughout the township, serving as natural pathways for various flora and fauna species within the conserved green areas.
“This project reflects LBS’ strong commitment to balancing development and conservation, with reforestation initiatives employing the Miyawaki method to enhance biodiversity and promote natural regeneration,” LBS said in a statement.
Additionally, the project incorporates ‘sponge city’ features, enabling the planting of densely packed native trees to encourage strong root growth, improve soil structure, and significantly enhance rainwater absorption capacity.
Equipped with a network of high-permeability pathways designed to facilitate rainwater absorption, LBS said that these features worked synergistically to make Bandar Rimbawan a ‘sponge city’ capable of effectively mitigating flood risks.
“To ensure that Rimbawan integrates its residents with nature, the development is strategically divided into four distinct zones: ‘EcoCommunity,’ ‘EcoCommercial,’ ‘EcoDiscovery,’ and ‘EcoPlay,’” the statement read.
Meanwhile, LBS group executive chairman Tan Sri Lim Hock San said in the same statement that the company believes true progress goes beyond meeting present needs, encompassing decisions that ensure future well-being.
“With global environmental challenges, it is essential for us to rethink all aspects, including construction, lifestyles, and ways of interacting with nature,” he said.
Strategically located near key amenities and attractions, Bandar Rimbawan offers its residents a dynamic lifestyle in a tranquil setting.
This unique development by LBS sets a new benchmark for highland living, blending the natural beauty of the landscape with modern sophistication, promoting a sustainable and balanced lifestyle for its residents.
Alongside the launch of Bandar Rimbawan, LBS also introduced its first high-rise residential project, Bayu Hills serviced apartments, as part of this eco-centric township.
Comprising 642 units starting at RM501,900, Bayu Hills offers unit sizes ranging from 500 to 1,067 square feet, with a projected GDV of RM453 million.
LBS said that this low-density development offered a variety of carefully designed layouts, ideal for homeowners seeking a harmonious blend of modern living and natural tranquillity.
“As a developer, we are not just constructing buildings but also assuming the responsibility to shape communities and environments that will serve as homes for future generations.
“The commitment of LBS, which has been recently recognised as a Best Managed Company by Deloitte for the third consecutive year, aligns closely with our focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.
“This project reflects LBS’ dedication to sustainable development, showcasing how we integrate nature conservation, community well-being, and ethical governance into all aspects of our operations,” said Lim.
