The Lao government said it will punish those involved in the deaths of foreign tourists suspected to be caused by tainted alcohol in Vang Vieng. The government expressed sadness and sympathy over the six deaths suspected caused by consuming drinks containing methanol.

Russian government agencies and private companies have jointly sent 35 tonnes of humanitarian assistance to those affected by flood caused by Typhoon Yagi in September. A transport aircraft carrying humanitarian aid arrived in Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday morning. 

 

2. ICRC SHARES SKILLS ON UNITING DISASTER-HIT  FAMILIES - - THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said its programme Restoring Family Links, a project reuniting families affected by natural disasters is important. The international agency and Myanmar Red Cross Society conducted a workshop for volunteers on how to reconnect broken  families          in Nay Pyi Taw.
