KUALA TERENGGANU, Dec 12 (Bernama) -- The National Journalists' Day (HAWANA) 2024 Campus Tour for the Eastern Zone ends today, with over 250 students and lecturers from three universities participating.
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil will officiate the programme, which involves students and lecturers from Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK).
Also present will be the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin; Bernama Editor-in-Chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj, who is also the HAWANA 2024 Project director; and UniSZA Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Fadzli Adam.
The final tour series for 2024 will also see UniSZA, UMT and UMK each receive contributions in the form of a set of high-capacity computers and smart televisions.
The HAWANA 2024 Campus Tour will also be enlivened with a dialogue session between Fahmi and the students.
The programme will also include three interactive workshops that are relevant to today's digital world for students, namely a Mobile Journalism session by Bernama journalists; a Fact Check session by Bernama editors; and a 'Click Wisely' talk by Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) officers.
The 'HAWANA 2024 Tour' programme was first held in conjunction with the HAWANA 2024 celebration, which was organised by the Ministry of Communications, with Bernama as the implementing agency.
