TEMERLOH, Dec 22 (Bernama) -- Sri Pahang FC secured a spot in the Malaysia Cup semi-finals following a thrilling 3-3 draw against Perak FC in the quarter-final second-leg at the Temerloh Municipal Council Stadium tonight.
The Tok Gajah squad advanced with a 4-3 aggregate victory.
Sri Pahang took the lead in the fifth minute with a strike from Manuel Federico Hidalgo, who scored from a tight angle to beat Perak goalkeeper Muhammad Haziq Nadzli.
Shaken by the early goal, Perak equalised four minutes later through a stunning effort by Wan Zack Haikal.
In the 30th minute, Hidalgo scored the second for Sri Pahang via a penalty awarded after a chaotic situation in Perak’s penalty area.
Perak levelled again in the 41st minute when Jesper Gunnar Fernando found the net, capitalising on Tommy Mawat Bada's corner kick.
Hidalgo completed his hat-trick during first-half injury time, converting another penalty after Kpah Sherman was fouled.
In the second half, Perak added a third goal with Ahmad Daniel Hakimi’s strike, bringing the score to 3-3.
The result remained unchanged until the final whistle, ensuring Sri Pahang's progress to the semi-finals.
