KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 23 (Bernama) -- KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd (KLCCH) has agreed with Bandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Bandar Malaysia Land Sdn Bhd to develop 196.67 hectares (ha) of land in Bandar Malaysia, the site of the former Royal Malaysian Air Force base in Sungai Besi.
The agreement to acquire the land was made on Oct 4, 2024, said KLCCH in a statement today.
The statement was issued following a news report that its subsidiary, KLCC Property Holdings Bhd (KLCCP), was buying 196.67ha of land in Bandar Malaysia for over RM10 billion.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, KLCCP said it is not the buyer of the land as reported by financial news portal The Edge.
“KLCCP wishes to inform that we are not a party to this transaction. We are not the buyer as reported,” it said.
Bandar Malaysia is a large-scale development project that is aimed to be a mixed-use urban hub with residential, commercial, and transit-oriented facilities.
KLCCH said it will undertake the development based on commercial viability over a long-term period.
“The development is envisioned as an international business hub and a liveable and inclusive city for the community,” it said.
With two of the most iconic developments in the nation, Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) and Putrajaya, KLCCH said that it has demonstrated a strategic vision in large-scale urban developments, setting the standards in master planning and sustainability.
