AZERBAIJANI EMBASSY IN MALAYSIA OPENS CONDOLENCE BOOK TO HONOUR PLANE CRASH VICTIMS

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 26 (Bernama) -- The Azerbaijani Embassy in Malaysia has opened a Book of Condolences to honour the victims of a tragic Azerbaijan Airlines plane crash that occurred on Wednesday (Dec 25).

In a statement on Thursday, the embassy reported that the tragic crash during an attempted emergency landing of a flight from Baku to Grozny claimed numerous lives. The Azerbaijani government has declared Dec 26 as a National Day of Mourning.

"The Book of Condolences is available for signing at the embassy located at Lot 589, Jalan 6, Taman Ampang Utama, Selangor, with the following schedule: Thursday (Dec 26) from 2 pm to 5.30 pm, and Friday (Dec 27) from 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5.30 pm," the statement read.

Condolences can also be expressed in writing by email to the embassy at kualalumpur@mission.mfa.gov.az.

The Azerbaijan Airlines plane crash near Aktau, Kazakhstan has claimed 38 confirmed fatalities, according to Marat Karabayev, Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan, as reported by Azerbaijan State News Agency (Azertac).
