KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 17 (Bernama) -- LazAffiliates Malaysia, Lazada's affiliate programme, offers the public the opportunity to turn their passion for shopping into income by earning commissions through promoting products online such as social media platforms.
Lazada Malaysia (Lazada) head of Affiliate Marketing Jason Wei said the programme, which currently has over 200,000 partners, also supports small entrepreneurs and businesses as well as large brands by increasing awareness and promotion.
“For example, some big brands still rely on affiliate marketing until today to push their promotion and so on. So, this is how affiliate marketing can help businesses rather than big brands but more towards the new-grown small entrepreneurs and brands,” he told reporters after the Lazada Affiliates Workshop here recently.
However, he noted that while joining the LazAffiliates journey is as easy as a few clicks, success requires consistency and dedication for individuals to earn income through the programme, whether using a smartphone or a computer.
“For example, some people give up when they have no sale on the first try. We do face this kind of partners as well and they don’t want to continue. So, for you to be a successful affiliate partner (it) is not only one try,” he added.
Elaborating, Wei said Lazada is gradually improving its affiliate app, transitioning from a previously manual system where some promotions, such as incentives, were sent via email.
He explained that the company is now integrating these features into the app itself, as some users may overlook emails.
“With the app, users can easily check incentives and, if interested, join the programme with a single click. Additionally, we have also improved payment processes, replacing slow manual checks with a streamlined system that allows users to track all their details directly within the app,” he said.
Meanwhile, Lazada Affiliate Marketing senior analyst Raja Uthaya explained during the workshop that anyone, not just content creators, influencers or social media users, could become a LazAffiliate by following five simple steps to get started.
He said users need to register or log in to the Lazada account and navigate to the 'My Account' section, followed by clicking the LazAffiliates icon and filling out a brief registration form with personal details and social media links and then users can begin generating affiliate links to share with friends, family and followers.
Once registered, he said staying connected with LazAffiliates is crucial for success in affiliate marketing and they must keep up with the latest promotions, campaigns and valuable resources by following LazAffiliates on TikTok, Instagram and Telegram for real-time updates as well as joining the Lazada Affiliate Facebook Group.
He noted that affiliate events and webinars hosted on Lazada University also offer another way to enhance earning potential where those events cover various topics, including content creation, creative design and marketing strategies.
He added that tracking progress is essential to ensure success in affiliate marketing, with the LazAffiliates dashboard enabling users to monitor how their affiliate links are performing, including conversions, orders and commission payouts.
Lastly, consistency is key for affiliates aiming to increase their income. Regularly posting and sharing affiliate links increases the likelihood of driving traffic and generating sales. By sticking to a consistent posting schedule and continually creating new content, affiliates can unlock greater earning potential, he added.
