WASHINGTON, Jan 20 (Bernama-UPI) -- TikTok sprung back to life Sunday afternoon after returning President Donald Trump, ahead of his second term in office, said users "deserve to see" his "exciting inauguration" as he promised an extension that would keep the app from staying dark.
When users open the app, a message from TikTok reads, "Welcome back! "Thanks for your patience and support. As a result of President Trump's efforts, TikTok is back in the US!", the United Press International (UPI) reported.
On his Truth Social platform earlier Sunday, Trump said that he is asking companies "not to let TikTok stay dark!"
"I will issue an executive order on Monday to extend the period before the law's prohibitions take effect so that we can make a deal to protect our national security," Trump said.
The inauguration of Trump will take place on Monday, Jan 20. Trump will take the oath of office as the 47th president of the US and JD Vance will take the oath of office as vice president.
