TANAH MERAH, Jan 25 (Bernama) -- The Ihsan MADANI contribution to 200 flood-affected families in Kelantan, which includes assistance for the purchase of school uniforms, has eased the burden on parents as the upcoming school term approaches.
Senior Political Secretary to Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, said the contribution included vouchers for purchasing school supplies at selected supermarkets.
"In addition to the flood relief and school uniforms, our collaboration with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) has also led to the distribution of 200 helmets to local residents.
"58 families of JPJ staff who were also affected by the floods have received Ihsan MADANI assistance. Additionally, free motorcycle licenses are being provided to selected recipients, on the condition that they attend the designated classes," he told reporters after attending the Kelantan JPJ Ihsan MADANI Squad Contribution and School Uniform Assistance Ceremony at SK Bendang Nyior, here today.
He added that the assistance provided was also in collaboration with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and welfare bodies.
