ISTANBUL, Feb 1 (Bernama-AA) -- Multiple casualties have been reported after a small plane crashed on Friday in a residential area in the United States (US) city of Philadelphia.
According to Anadolu Agency (AA), the aircraft, reportedly an air ambulance, took off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport before crashing around 6:30 p.m. local time (2330GMT), igniting multiple fires.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said there were two people on board.
But a local FOX 29 reporter cited Philadelphia Police who said at least six people, including two pilots, two doctors, a patient and a family member, are believed to have been killed.
Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy said there were reportedly six people onboard, bolstering media reports.
Emergency teams responded to the crash site, where witnesses reported hearing loud explosions and seeing multiple vehicles on fire.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are investigating.
