KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 5 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Humanitarian Aid & Relief (MAHAR) strongly rejects and condemns the relocation plan proposed by US President Donald Trump for the Palestinian people.
The Kuala Lumpur-based MAHAR said the plan is “a clear violation of human rights, international law, and the fundamental dignity of the Palestinian people.”
"The forced relocation of the Palestinian people is not just their issue – it is a humanitarian crisis that the entire world must oppose. We cannot allow history to repeat its darkest chapters, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure that justice prevails,” said MAHAR Advisor, Nurul Izzah Anwar, in a statement on Wednesday (Feb 5).
“We call upon the international community to increase support for Palestine, demand accountability from those responsible for these atrocities, and work towards a future where the Palestinian people can live with dignity, security, and freedom in their rightful homeland,” she stressed.
MAHAR noted that the forced relocation of any community is unacceptable and disregards their historical rights, further exacerbating the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories.
The forcible acquisition of any sovereign territory by any nation, as announced by President Trump, is a direct violation of international law and the principles of territorial integrity, it added.
“Such actions undermine the rights of nations to self-determination and sovereignty, fuelling further instability and conflict,” said MAHAR.
MAHAR asserted that the Palestinian people have an inalienable right to their homeland and self-determination.
“Any attempt to forcibly relocate or expel them must be firmly opposed by the international community.
“This plan is not only unjust but also deepens the oppression and suffering of the Palestinian people who have long endured cruelty,” it said.
MAHAR stands in unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle for justice, sovereignty, and peace.
“We urge global leaders, international bodies, and human rights organisations to take decisive action to prevent this forced relocation and uphold the principles of justice and human rights,” it said.
