SUPER LEAGUE: DARREN LOK'S BRACE HELPS SABAH DRAW 2-2 AGAINST SRI PAHANG FC

KOTA KINABALU, Feb 16 (Bernama) -- After losing in their previous meeting, Sabah FC managed to tie Sri Pahang FC to a 2-2 draw at home in a Super League action at the Likas Stadium here tonight.

The first half saw both teams choosing to attack and Darren Lok put Sabah in front from the spot by converting a penalty kick awarded in the 21st minute.

However, before the cheers of the home fans died down, the visitors managed to equalise two minutes later, thanks to Adam Nor Azlin's powerful strike from outside the penalty area.

The game was getting lively with several dangerous attempts produced by both teams, but Kpah Sherman put Sri Pahang in front after a beautiful shot from outside the penalty box to beat Khairul Fahmi Che Mat in the 43rd minute.

Continuing in the second half, Darren emerged as Sabah's hero when he completed his second penalty and Sabah second spot kick after teammate, Kumaahran Asthasivam was fouled by a Sri Pahang FC defender in the 58th minute.

Meanwhile, two late goals saw the clash between Penang FC and Kuching City FC end up in a 1-1 draw at the City Stadium, Penang.

Kuching City drew first blood but initially Jordan Mintah's goal in the 74th minute was denied by the linesman because for an alleged offside but the goal was given by the referee, Muhammad Shukor Zulkiflee after a video assistant referee (VAR) review was made, thus putting Kuching City in front.

The visitors' joy however, did not last long as Penang equalised 12 minutes later through a cross from the right by substitute Alif Ikmal.

The 1-1 result remained until the final whistle, ensuring both teams share the spoils.
