CAMBODIA

1. INFINITE CAPITAL EYES CAMBODIA’S EV PRODUCTION -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE 

Guangzhou-based Infinite Capital Holdings has expressed interest in investing in Cambodia’s electric vehicles (EVs) and the production of EV components. The company is involved in investments in the production of new materials, artificial intelligence, semiconductors and carbon fibre.

 

2. INDIA PROMOTES SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH TO YOUTH -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE 

India established a science library in the Ratanak Mondul district of Battambang province through the Quick Impact Project to enhance science and technology education for Cambodian youth. The library will help students in rural areas access scientific literature and resources.

 

LAOS 

1. CHAMPASSAK TO BE INVESTMENT, TOURISM HUB -- VIENTIANE TIMES 

The government wants to transform Champassak province in southern Laos into a major investment and a tourist gateway. Authorities and business entities signed agreements to develop tourist attractions, agriculture and electricity generation in the province known for its waterfalls. 

 

2. FRESH POLICIES TO PROPEL LAO ECONOMY -- VIENTIANE TIMES

The National Assembly formulated key policies to drive Laos’ socio-economic development this year. They include the evaluation of legal amendments, exemptions to certain laws and revisions to regulations governing infrastructure projects, industrial estates, mineral mining and power generation.

 

MYANMAR

1. TRIPARTITE PACT TO DEAL WITH CYBER CRIME  -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

China, Myanmar and Thailand are discussing ways to stop online fraud, the eradication of cyber crime zones in Myawaddy and the repatriation of those involved in various online crimes like gambling. Myanmar has repatriated 1,303 foreigners since January this year. 

 

2. MANUFACTURING DRAWS MAJOR LOCAL INVESTMENT -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

The manufacturing sector attracted over 22 per cent of domestic investments, followed by real estate (20 per cent) and services sector (15 per cent) as end of January. Other sectors include hotel and tourism, construction, power, mining, agriculture and oil and gas.
