KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 20 (Bernama) -- The MADANI Women Empowerment - Creating Distinctive Womenpreneurs in Wealth, Brain, Beauty and Behaviour (WeBBB) programme is a significant initiative to provide additional value and enhance women’s role in entrepreneurship, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
He said the programme adopts a holistic, innovative and competitive approach to creating equal opportunities and stimulating economic growth through women’s active involvement in tackling global economic challenges.
“I am impressed by the success of this programme, which has produced graduates from diverse economic backgrounds, age groups and ethnicities.
“Most of the graduates are micro-entrepreneurs, individuals from the B40 group, single mothers, asnaf, new converts and young entrepreneurs engaged in businesses such as food, fashion, services and pharmaceuticals,” he said at the First Convocation Ceremony of the MADANI Women Empowerment - WeBBB programme today.
Fadillah also highlighted that women are becoming increasingly active in the workforce, taking up roles across various sectors, including professional fields and entrepreneurship.
He said women’s involvement in the economy contributes to boosting national productivity, including through home-based businesses leveraging digital platforms.
The six-month programme, conducted through physical, online and hybrid sessions, has successfully produced 400 graduates. It covered 121 courses such as Talent Management and Multiple Intelligence Assessment, Innovative Women Entrepreneurs and Economic Sustainability, and Sustainable Financial Management.
Its objectives include providing access to financial aid and support, developing platforms for interaction and collaboration, and expanding business networks locally and internationally.
