RIYADH, Feb 25 (Bernama-SPA) -- Saudi Arabia emphasised the need to intensify attention to the human-rights situation in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories amid the unfolding events there.
Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that this came during the speech of Saudi Human Rights Commission (HRC) President and head of the Kingdom’s delegation, Dr Hala bint Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri, at the high-level segment of the 58th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva.
She affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening its close cooperation with the UN human rights mechanisms while emphasising the importance of respecting diverse values and avoiding the imposition of selective, unilateral values on societies.
She also highlighted the need to recognise cultural and civilisational diversity and leverage it to protect and promote human rights.
