TANAH MERAH, Feb 26 (Bernama) -- Many questions still remain unanswered two days after Hud Aryan Mohd Nor, a 19-month-old baby boy, went missing from his home on Monday evening.
His mother, housewife Azean Nur Atikah Ramley, 34, is still hoping for her son would be quickly found safe, even as she continued to wonder as to how Hud Aryan could have vanished, seemingly without a trace when she came out from the kitchen at about 7.20 pm that day.
"After I fed Hud Aryan some rice, I went to the kitchen to wash my hands and the plate… after it was done in about just four minutes, I came back to the living room and was shocked that my child was gone.
"I immediately looked around the house but failed to find him and I rushed to my relatives and neighbours’ homes to tell them about my missing son,” she related to reporters at her home near Kampung Aira Kuala Tiga, here today.
“I’ve been married since 2017 and after three miscarriages I was blessed with Hud Aryan, this is the challenge that my family has to go through and I hope everyone continues to pray for my son’s safe return,” she said sadly.
Meanwhile, Tanah Merah district police chief Supt Mohd Haki Hasbullah said today that the missing child’s case has been classified as a missing person’s case, with no criminal elements found so far as the family had not received any call from any party about his disappearance.
He said the police, along with other authorities, would intensify search efforts, including using tracker dog units (K9) from the Kelantan Fire and Rescue Department.
“I urge the public not to speculate or to spread fake news that can affect the family and interfere with the investigation.
“The search operation now encompasses a three-kilometre radius from where the baby was reported missing, and involves 40 police and firefighters,” he told reporters at a media conference at the location of the incident today.
Mohd Haki added that the search will focus on the initial location where the baby went missing, including the vicinity of the house, which is located at the edge of the village, with a stream about 60 metres in front of residence, along the nearby stream and its banks.
