JAKARTA, March 7 (Bernama) -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto received eight prominent business figures at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday evening for a strategic discussion on the national economy and key ongoing government programmes.
The entrepreneurs in attendance represented a broad range of industries, including notable figures like Anthony Salim, Sugianto Kusuma, Prajogo Pangestu, Boy Thohir, Franky Widjaja, Datuk Seri Tahir, James Riady, and Tomy Winata. Their businesses span sectors such as food, property, energy, finance, and manufacturing.
The Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, in a statement, said the meeting took place in a “warm and productive atmosphere,” with discussions covering several critical areas, including the government’s flagship policy of providing free nutritious meals, infrastructure development, strengthening the textile industry, and efforts to achieve food and energy self-sufficiency.
Industrialisation and investment management, particularly through the Danantara Investment Management Agency, were also central topics during the talks.
Prabowo also expressed his appreciation for the role of the business community in supporting government policies, particularly those aimed at public welfare.
“The meeting reflects the government’s effort to build close communication with the business community to ensure national economic stability and attract investments that can create jobs and enhance the competitiveness of domestic industries,” the statement read.
Accompanying him at the meeting were Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
