KOTA BHARU, March 9 (Bernama) -- The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) will expedite the construction of a new suspension bridge at Sungai Balar, Gua Musang, after it was severed by floods in the area today.
JAKOA, in a statement today, said nearly 400 residents were affected by the incident.
"JAKOA is always attentive to issues concerning the Orang Asli community and remains proactive in addressing the challenges they face.
"The damaged bridge was already listed for repairs in 2025, but following this incident, JAKOA will expedite the construction of a new bridge for pedestrians and motorcycle users," read the statement, adding that the department remained committed to finding the best solution and ensuring the welfare and well-being of the Orang Asli community.
