KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 (Bernama) -- Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) continues to excel in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 when 20 out of 30 subjects at the university are in the top three in Malaysia.
Among the subjects are Sports-related subjects, English Language and Literature, Modern Language, Communication and Media Studies, Law, Engineering (Civil and Structure, Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing), Medicine, Education, Accounting and Finance, and Pharmacy and Pharmacology.
UKM deputy vice-chancellor (Academic and International Affairs) Prof Dr Abdul Halim Abdul Gafor, who assumes the duties of UKM vice-chancellor, said in a statement that 15 out of the 30 subjects offered by the university also ranked in the world’s top 200.
“More impressively, the subject of Theology, Divinity and Religious Studies recorded a remarkable improvement in its position, ranking among the top 100 in the world. This achievement also reflects UKM’s strength and competitiveness across various disciplines,” he said.
Additionally, Abdul Halim said that UKM has also shown progress in three main Broad Areas, namely Arts and Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Life Sciences and Medicine.
“This international recognition proves that UKM has succeeded in maintaining its reputation in terms of quality academic expertise, high-performing programmes, and the continuous efforts of UKM in ensuring high-quality, innovative higher education that is also relevant to international requirements,” he added.
