KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 16 (Bernama) -- The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) will ensure that every procurement process is implemented according to the principles of good governance to safeguard public interest and maintain community confidence in the national security institution.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail said that PDRM takes note of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s statement regarding procurement matters involving the force and will take the necessary actions professionally.

“PDRM will implement all necessary actions professionally, transparently, and with integrity, in line with the laws, policies, and directives established by the government,” he said in a statement today.

Earlier today, the Prime Minister ordered all procurement decisions for the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) linked to corruption issues to be temporarily frozen until procurement processes are fully complied with.

He stressed that the government, through the relevant ministries, will examine and restructure all procurements to ensure the transparency of the existing system.
