JAKARTA, Jan 20 (Bernama) -- Selangor Red Giants (SRG) are one step away from booking a spot in the upper bracket final of the M7 World Championships (Seventh edition of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship which is an international online esports tournament.
However, the task will not be easy for the Malaysian side as they prepare for a high-stake clash against Aurora Gaming of Turkiye tomorrow.
SRG head coach Michael Angelo Bocado believes his team cannot afford to be complacent, labelling Aurora as dangerous dark horses in the tournament.
“For me, Aurora Turkiye is always a team that is capable of winning and they are always considered one of the dark horses in every tournament that they join. So for sure we need to give them a lot of respect,” he said when met recently.
He also added that the match played in a best-of-five format tomorrow will be decided not just by skill, but by adaptability over a longer series for both teams.
“Being able to adjust and being able to read the opponents is a very critical matter in winning during a best-of-five series. How good the team is at adapting to their opponent's strategy is what will give you the win,” he said.
Earlier, SRG advanced to the upper bracket semifinals after defeating Team Spirit 2-0 last Sunday, while Aurora progressed by beating Yangon Galacticos 2-0 in the first knockout round.
