KOTA BHARU, March 12 (Bernama) -- Yayasan PETRONAS has channelled nearly RM1 million in assistance to 4,850 low-income families nationwide through the Memacu Kehidupan Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2026 programme to help them prepare for the upcoming Syawal celebrations.
PETRONAS East Coast Region General Manager Mohammad Ahmad Shazly Ramli said the contributions involved recipients from 13 states and three Federal Territories.
He said in Kelantan, a total of 400 low-income families from the districts of Kota Bharu, Tumpat, Pasir Mas and Bachok were selected to receive aid in the form of basic food items and festive cookie hampers.
“This annual programme is hoped will help ease the burden of recipients, especially in preparing for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations,” he said in his speech at the Yayasan PETRONAS: Memacu Kehidupan Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2026 programme here today.
Mohammad Ahmad Shazly said the initiative is part of Yayasan PETRONAS’ efforts to strengthen community well-being through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes.
The programme was also attended by Kelantan Social Welfare, Women and Family Development Committee chairman Datuk Rohani Ibrahim, who jointly presented the contributions to recipients.
