KUALA LUMPUR, April 11 (Bernama) -- Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh has urged the public not to panic as the status of the country's fuel supply remains stable and sufficient.

In this regard, the public should continue their purchases as usual, she said in a Facebook post today.

The government, through the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) in collaboration with the industry, is closely monitoring the reported disruptions in fuel supply at several petrol stations.

Fuziah said that supply recovery measures are being implemented promptly.

"As informed, there has been an increase in demand in several locations, causing temporary supply disruptions at some petrol stations,” she said

Fuziah said that the cooperation from all parties is important to ensure the situation remains under control, and any further developments will be communicated periodically.

Earlier, Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd said that there might be a temporary increase in demand, resulting in a temporary shortage of fuel at some petrol stations. The company said it was making every effort to restore supply at the affected stations as soon as possible.
