MADINAH, April 20 (Bernama) -- Malaysian hajj pilgrims have been urged to cherish the opportunity of being in the Holy Land by increasing acts of worship and making full use of their time in Madinah to draw closer to Allah SWT.
Head of the Malaysian Hajj Delegation Mohd Hisham Harun said Madinah is not merely a stopover before heading to Mecca, but a historic city that preserves the struggles of Prophet Muhammad SAW and his companions in upholding Islam.
“This is a great opportunity for pilgrims to reflect on the history of Islamic struggles, increase their supplications and pray for their well-being and that of their families and the nation.
“We hope all pilgrims will make the best use of their time to perform acts of worship in this blessed city before departing for Makkah to perform umrah and subsequently the hajj,” he said on Monday.
Mohd Hisham said Tabung Haji (TH) has arranged various activities to enable pilgrims to visit historical sites, including the Prophet’s tomb, the Baqi’ cemetery and Mount Uhud, as well as to pray at Raudhah.
He said this after engaging with 284 pilgrims from group five (KT5) who arrived at the Anwar Al-Madinah Mövenpick Hotel here on Monday.
With the latest arrival, the number of Malaysian pilgrims in Madinah has now exceeded 1,700, including those from group six (KT6) who have arrived safely.
The 1447H/2026M hajj operations are expected to bring a total of 31,600 Malaysian pilgrims to Madinah and Mecca in stages via 100 special chartered flights operated by AMAL by Malaysia Airlines, and Saudia Airlines.
