PUTRAJAYA, April 20 (Bernama) -- The Home Ministry (KDN) has intensified joint enforcement operations to tackle the impact of the global energy crisis on supply chains and economic security, seizing RM11.05 million worth of goods from April 12 to 16.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the operation resulted in 40 arrests, with seizures from 18 diesel cases totalling RM10.41 million, nine petrol cases (RM413,209.40), and five involving LPG and cooking oil (RM153,628).
"The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) also seized logistics assets like 30 gas cylinders, a cargo boat, and outboard engines in Tawau waters, Sabah," he said in today's Facebook post sharing KDN’s Security and Enforcement Status Report: West Asia Crisis Impact, dated April 16.
Describing the approach as proof of the ministry’s commitment, he said it was implemented to stem energy resource leakages through strategic cooperation among agencies such as the Royal Malaysia Police and the MMEA.
“No compromise on leakages or smuggling. Enforcement will keep getting stronger through teamwork and solid data,” he said.
Saifuddin Nasution stressed KDN’s ongoing push to sharpen readiness and operations, ensuring public wellbeing and national stability remain protected.
