KUALA LUMPUR, May 4 (Bernama) -- Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar congratulated Datuk Seri Suriani Ahmad on her appointment as the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) secretary-general, effective today.
Shamsul Azri expressed confidence in Suriani's competence and experience.
"She can drive excellence across KKDW's initiatives in economic development and boost rural wellbeing through the public service reform agenda to achieve Malaysia MADANI goals," he said.
Shamsul Azri said Suriani, 58, holds a Bachelor of Communication (Hons) from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and a Master of Arts in Strategy and Diplomacy from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
He said Suriani brings extensive experience in government administration, public policy, and international relations, not to mention several key roles she has held.
She previously served as secretary-general in the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry, the Communications and Multimedia Ministry, the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry and the Health Ministry.
