KUALA LUMPUR, May 12 (Bernama) -- A new report by Altrata, sponsored by Arton Capital, finds that the global Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) population is increasingly international, with one in five individuals now foreign-born.

The study projects the UHNW population will grow by 33 per cent to reach 734,100 by 2030, while their combined wealth is expected to rise from US$63 trillion in 2025 to US$84 trillion by the end of the decade. (US$1=RM3.92)

It shows that 79 per cent of foreign-born UHNW individuals are self-made, compared with 16 per cent who combine entrepreneurship and inheritance and just five per cent who are fully inherited wealth holders, according to a statement.

The report highlights a broader structural shift in global wealth creation, with ultra wealthy individuals increasingly structuring their lives, assets and businesses across multiple jurisdictions. International mobility is also closely linked to entrepreneurship and wealth generation, as globally mobile individuals are more likely to build businesses and pursue cross-border opportunities.

“The next generation of UHNW individuals is thinking beyond single-country solutions, prioritising flexibility, resilience, and optionality in how and where they live, invest, and grow their wealth.

“In an increasingly complex world, the ability to move seamlessly across borders is becoming one of the most powerful tools for preserving and creating wealth,” said Arton Capital chief executive officer, Armand Arton.

Key wealth hubs remain dominant, with the United States accounting for around 40 per cent of the global UHNW population, underlining its continued position as the world’s leading wealth centre.

Cities such as London also remain major financial hubs despite regulatory pressures and structural headwinds.

Dubai is, meanwhile, emerging as a rising wealth hub, particularly among younger ultra wealthy individuals, reflecting shifting global mobility and redistribution of wealth.
