MOSCOW, May 15 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- Flights at Helsinki Airport were suspended on Friday morning due to a drone threat, the Yle broadcaster reported, according to Sputnik/RIA Novosti.

In the morning, the Helsinki authorities received a warning of unmanned aerial vehicles in Finnish airspace, the report said. A meeting on the work of city services in connection with the threat of drones was reportedly held at 6.30 (3:30 GMT). The city airspace was temporarily closed and several morning flights at the capital city airport were either cancelled or rescheduled, Yle said.

Half an hour later, the authorities announced that the threat of drones had passed.

The air harbour was closed for three hours, from 4.00 to 7.00, according to a statement on the airport's website cited by Yle.
