GOVT ASSISTS ALL STATES REGARDLESS OF POLITICAL AFFILIATION -- MOHAMAD

JOHOR BAHRU, May 17 (Bernama) -- The government does not discriminate against any state in allocating funds, including for agriculture and food security, Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said.

He said assistance to all states, including those administered by the opposition, would continue under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the benefit of the people.

"This is the attitude of a leader who does not practise favouritism and upholds the Constitution and democratic principles. If we want to change the prime minister, we should wait until the general election and not act hastily," he said at the Pakatan Harapan Convention 2026 at the Persada Johor International Convention Centre here today.

Mohamad said he would continue seeking additional allocations from the Finance Ministry for 2026 to strengthen Johor's agriculture sector.

He said about RM201 million had been allocated for agriculture in Johor under the 13th Malaysia Plan and that the government intended not only to maintain the allocation but also to increase it.

"In agriculture and food security, we do not look at political colours. We support any state that is committed," he said.

He also urged the people to continue giving the Unity Government a mandate to lead the country for another term, describing its formation as the result of a long process of political cooperation.
