KUALA LUMPUR, June 18 (Bernama) -- Several national leaders have extended their condolences to Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri following the passing of her husband, Datuk Kamil Misuari, earlier today.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the loss of a beloved spouse and lifelong companion was a profoundly difficult test.
He also prayed that Nancy and her family would be granted strength in facing this period of grief.
“Let us pray that Allah SWT forgives all of Allahyarham’s sins, accepts his good deeds and places his soul among His faithful servants who receive His mercy,” he said in a Facebook post.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail also conveyed his condolences to Nancy and her family, while praying that they be granted strength in facing the loss and that all matters would be eased for them.
“May Allah SWT shower His mercy upon the late Datuk Kamil bin Misuari, forgive his sins and place him among His faithful and righteous servants,” he said in a Facebook post.
Meanwhile, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil prayed that Nancy and her family would be blessed with strength, resilience and ease in facing the difficult period.
“May Allah SWT bestow His mercy upon Allahyarham's soul, forgive all his sins and place him among the faithful,” he said.
Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu also prayed that Nancy and her family would be granted strength, patience and perseverance in facing the painful loss.
“May Allah SWT forgive all of the deceased’s sins, shower him with His mercy and compassion, grant him peace in his grave and place his soul among His faithful and righteous servants,” he said.
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan also conveyed his condolences to Nancy and her family.
“The loss of a loved one is indeed a very difficult test for any family,” he said.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs) Datuk Mustapha Sakmud said the loss of a loved one was a deeply challenging trial.
“May Allah SWT grant strength and patience to the entire family during this difficult time,” he said.
Earlier, the Women, Family and Community Development Minister’s Office said in a statement that Kamil died at a hospital here this evening.
His remains will be flown to Kuching and laid to rest at the Samariang Muslim Cemetery tomorrow.
Kamil, 65, married Nancy in 1985 and they were blessed with three children.
