ALPHA STORY LAUNCHES AI-POWERED MARCOMMS SOLUTION FOR INDONESIA'S MSMES

JAKARTA, June 22 (Bernama) -- Singapore-based Alpha Story has launched a marketing communications (marcomms) solution in Indonesia targeting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), as it seeks to make professional communications services more accessible to smaller businesses.

Chief executive officer Jeremy Foo said the company aims to use artificial intelligence (AI), improved process design and a more accessible pricing structure to help MSMEs tell stronger stories and compete more effectively.

“Indonesia's MSMEs are the foundation of the economy. But for too long, professional public relations and strategic communications have been treated as services only larger companies can afford,” he said in a statement.

According to Alpha Story, MSMEs account for nearly 99 per cent of all businesses in Indonesia, and contribute 60.5 per cent of the country's gross domestic product, making them the backbone of the national economy.

Foo said Indonesia's large MSME sector presents significant opportunities to expand access to communications, media strategy, search visibility and brand intelligence tools as businesses continue to grow in an increasingly digital marketplace.

He said the company believes AI and more efficient processes can help make professional communications services more accessible while enabling smaller businesses to build trust, strengthen their market presence and compete more effectively.

The company said its Indonesian operation offers businesses a lower-cost entry point into professional communications services, including support for press release creation, positioning, media outreach, post-campaign reporting and guaranteed placements in Indonesian media.

According to Alpha Story, the model is designed to provide MSMEs, startups, founder-led companies and growth-stage brands with a more practical pathway into public relations services without requiring long retainers or significant upfront commitments.

Alpha Story recently established an office in Central Jakarta and operates as an affiliate of the Indonesian outdoor advertising company 8Infini.

As part of the initiative, the company has introduced Alpha Echo, an AI-powered brand intelligence platform to help businesses understand how they are perceived, how they compare with competitors and where they appear across search, social media and AI-driven discovery environments.

Alpha Story said Alpha Echo analyses signals from media coverage, social platforms, industry trends and brand materials to provide communications guidance, helping companies shape positioning, public relations narratives, thought leadership, content strategies, and search visibility across search engine optimisation and answer engine optimisation.

Alpha Story Indonesia country lead Leighton Cosseboom said many MSMEs faced challenges not because they lacked strong products, capable founders or meaningful customer value.

“They are often under-discovered and under-explained. They need to be found, understood, and trusted. Alpha Story Indonesia is built to help close that visibility gap,” he said.

Alpha Story said it has served more than 2,000 clients across Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, spanning sectors including consumer brands, automotive, technology, lifestyle, hospitality, finance and enterprise businesses.

Its regional client portfolio includes Audi, Volkswagen, Agoda, University of Reading, Vietjet, UOL Group, AXS, SEMICON Southeast Asia, Nihon M&A Center, SEAX Global and RazorPay, among others.

The company said its expansion into Indonesia reflects its belief that future growth in Southeast Asia's communications industry will come not only from large enterprises with substantial agency budgets, but also from the vast number of MSMEs seeking more accessible, intelligent and measurable ways to build trust and compete in the market.
