MELAKA, May 7 (Bernama) -- The burnt victim of a jealous husband at Taman Krubong Permai on April 29, died due to severe burns at the Melaka Hospital, Monday morning.
Melaka Criminal Investigation Department chief ACP Mohd Nor Yhazid Idris said S.Vijeyyenthi, 39, who suffered 70 per cent severe burns on her limbs and face died at 3.30 am.
“The case was previously investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code and was amended to Section 302 of the Penal Code which caused death and the suspects to be remanded for further investigation.
"The victim is believed to have died due to severe injuries," he said when contacted by Bernama, today.
On April 30, the media reported a woman was burned by her husband using petrol taken from the victim's motorcycle tank.
The 45-year-old man was arrested by the Central Police District Headquarters (IPD) Crime Investigation Department (D9) team at Krubong landfills at about 3 pm of the same day and the suspect confessed to burning his wife for allegedly having an affair with another man.
