IPOH, Jan 22 -- A trailer lorry transporting recycled goods caught fire today on the north-bound stretch of the North-South Expressway just after the Menora Tunnel, causing massive traffic congestion for up to six kilometres.
A PLUS spokesman said all lanes had to be closed to facilitate the fire-fighting operation.
"However, the right lane has been reopened to traffic, while the left lane is still closed," he told Bernama when contacted here today.
Meanwhile, a Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said it was alerted to the fire at 12.49 pm and firemen in two engines from Kuala Kangsar and Meru Raya stations were rushed to the scene.
