KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 17 (Bernama) – The national heritage list for 2018 unveiled here today included 149 compositions and songs of the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee, the legendary actor and singer.
Among the evergreens in the list are Bunyi Gitar, Maafkan Kami, Anakku Sazali, Tunggu Sekejap and Getaran Jiwa.
The announcement was made by Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Mohammadin Ketapi at the 2018 National Heritage Declaration Ceremony here .
"This afternoon I have the pleasure of making known the national heritage list and what is special about it is that the works of the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee are included especially the songs he composed,” he said.
The list has 24 heritage sites, 225 objects and six living persons.
Mohammadin said it was important to have the list as it would a positive impact on society.
"It will also generate revenue for the country via heritage tourism,” he added.
