MELAKA, Jan 27 (Bernama) – Philippine national football player, Patrick Reichelt, of German-Filipino descent has signed a one-season contract with Melaka United for 2019 today, thus completing the team’s quota of five import players this season.
Melaka United Soccer Association (MUSA) in a statement said the 30-year-old player was the last import to be signed by the Hang Tuah squad as the 2019 Malaysia League season is about to kick off soon.
Reichelt was last in action with his national team at the 2019 AFC Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The contract signing ceremony at Wisma MUSA was witnessed by MUSA vice-president, Mohd Ashiq Abd Samad and MUSA secretary-general, Farhan Ibrahim.
Reichelt had also assisted Ceres-Negros defend their Philippines Football League title in the 2017 and 2018 seasons.
