CYBERJAYA, Feb 28 (Bernama) -- The upcoming four-day Malaysia Autoshow 2019, to be held from April 11 to April 14, is expected to generate sales of about RM250 million.

Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Madani Sahari said the auto show, which would be held at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), was expected to attract 350,000 visitors.

“The Malaysia Autoshow remains as an important component of the annual automotive calendar. It allows for maximum participation of Malaysians in the automotive sector through experiential exhibitions and activities,” he told reporters after the Malaysia Autoshow 2019 soft launch by International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Darell Leiking in conjunction with ministry’s monthly assembly here today.

Themed “Mobility for All”, the 2019 edition will showcase the latest vehicles and also highlight the latest advances in technology, safety and comfort of vehicles sold within the Malaysian market, as well as focusing on the latest industry trend.

Madani said about 100 cars and variants from various original equipment manufacturers were expected to be on display, including the newest energy-efficient models.

The auto show would also feature ASEAN’s largest car-tuning and lifestyle show series, the International Automodified, which would showcase modified and customised cars.

“The show will also feature the ‘MARii Mobility Hall’, showcasing the entire automotive value chain from styling and design to engineering to manufacturing, as well as provide a vision of Malaysia's mobility ecosystem in the future,” he said.

At the assembly, Leiking announced the extension of Madani’s contract as MARii CEO.
