KUALA LUMPUR, July 6 (Bernama) -- The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) plans to turn the Tun Sharifah Rodziah Cup (PTSR) women's football tournament into a full-fledged league.

FAM president Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin said the PTSR was the best platform for national women footballers to play competitively, and it could be further improved with the home and away league format in the future.

"I also urge women's football committees to continue working hard to find new talent from the grassroots at all age groups to ensure a continuous supply of good talent.

"We at FAM have always supported women's football and I am thankful to the supporters who are present here today," he said in an entry posted on FAM's official Facebook page today.

Hamidin was at the MMU Stadium in Cyberjaya to witness the PTSR semi-final match between defending champions Kedah and Selangor, which ended 3-1 in favour of Kedah.

Another semi-final match will be held this afternoon between Melaka and PDRM at the same venue.
