KOTA BHARU, July 20 (Bernama) -- Kelantan Pakatan Harapan (PH) regards the call by PAS for Parliament to be dissolved to allow for the 15th general election to be held much sooner, as a joke.
Its chairman Datuk Husam Musa said the suggestion was absurd considering that the 14th general election was held barely a year ago and Parliament having just approved the amendment to the Federal Constitution to lower the voting age to 18.
"The call by (PAS deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man) is a joke. Instead, we suggest that the PAS-led Kelantan and Terengganu governments dissolve their state assemblies first if they want the general election to be held sooner,” he told reporters here today.
Earlier, he launched a community programme at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Sering here. Also present were Kelantan Information Department director Lim Ann Teck and the State Education director Abu Hanipah @ Fauzi Zahari.
Tuan Ibrahim was reported to have made the call yesterday, claiming the PH government had failed to ensure political stability and harmony in the country.
