KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 25 -- KCOM Group, an information technology (IT) training firm, aims to train 10,000 people to become high-skilled workers over the next five years via its Beyond4 programme.
Chief executive officer ST Rubaneswaran said the programme is a collaborative effort between the group and HLX Integrated Innovation Centre (HLX), and will be offered at the HLX Academy starting January next year.
Speaking at a media briefing on the programme here today, he said the company will be a key stakeholder in HLX's digital campus to provide specialised development and upskilling programmes; matching talent skill sets with the needs of the industry and the government.
HLX is Malaysia's first innovation exchange, fully owned by Guocoland Malaysia Bhd, the property arm of Hong Leong Group.
"In the 2020 Budget, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng announced an allocation of RM1 billion in customised packaged incentives to attract investments from Fortune 500 companies and global unicorns to Malaysia,” he said.
Rubaneswaran noted that with the advent of technology, companies may operate from anywhere in the world, and talents would be the key factor to attract the companies to invest in Malaysia.
Thus, the Beyond4 programme is important to ensure companies are still relevant, able to grow and create talents in the country, he added.
